The Boston Red Sox dominated the regular season, racking up 95 wins and finishing 9 full games above the second-place NY Giants. The Giants, however, sprung the upset and won the World Series. Honus Wagner, always very high in the MVP voting, finally took home the hardware this season, establishing himself as one of the very best, if not the absolute best, in the history of the game so far.
